Anyone may drop off coats at Exeter High School by Nov. 7

The Exeter Future Farmers of America has started a drive for students who need coats in the Exeter School District.

People can drop off clean, new or gently used coats in the Exeter High School office, located at 101 Locust St., by Nov. 7.

The chapter officers planned the coat drive over the summer for people who cannot afford a warm winter coat, said Nick Guthery, Exeter FFA advisor.

"Part of what we do is community outreach and involvement," he said.

The Exeter FFA is working with school counselors and teachers to gather the coats and distribute them, said Guthery, who hopes the drive is successful.

"If we only get five coats, it's five more than people out there didn't have," he said.

For more information, people may contact Guthery at 417-835-2922.
