Ghoulish menu marks Halloween party
Shell Knob Eagles Lodge hosting dance, costume contest
The Eagles Lodge 4155 in Shell Knob will have a Halloween party where people can dress in costumes and eat from a ghoulish menu.
"It's just a typical Halloween party, fully decorated with fogs and lights and spooks and thrills," said Brian Standley, the Eagles Lodge president.
The dinner is open to anyone from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 31, and the cost is $7 per person.
The menu is monster guts with mummy meatballs (spaghetti and meatballs), ghostly bread (French bread that looks like a ghost), tombstone Jell-O (Jell-O shaped like a tombstone) and worms in dirt (chocolate pudding with Oreos and gummi worms), said Marsha Rountree, secretary of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary.
The Halloween dance is open from 8 p.m. to midnight for adults who are at least 21.
It has no cover charge, Standley said. The lodge will serve alcoholic beverages. The band is Southern Country.
The dance also has a costume contest: First place wins $100, second place wins $50, and third place wins $25, he said.
The lodge, located at 23595 Highway 39, which has been around for 29 years, has hosted the Halloween party almost every year, Standley said.
