Car Show, Howl-O-Ween Fest set in Eagle Rock
Oct. 25 event to feature games, haunted house, costume contest
The Eagle Rock Daze Car Show & Howl-O-Ween Fest is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Eagle Rock Community Center, Highway 86 just south of Highway F.
"We're not trying to compete with the Chili Cook-off in Cassville, but we would like to," said John Stilwell, president of the Eagle Rock Community Association. "We know we're small compared to what they do. We're just trying to have something that gets Eagle Rock on the map and let everybody know what we are doing down here."
The Eagle Rock Friends of the Library sponsors the Howl-O-Ween Fest, which Stilwell said he thinks is in its sixth year. The festival has games, a haunted house, a costume judging contest for children and adults and lots of candy to give away.
The car show is in its third year, he said. The show had 26 cars in the first year followed by 41 cars the previous year.
"We like to see 100," Stilwell said.
The car show, which is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will award the top 30 vehicles. The entry fee is $20 per vehicle.
Merchants, crafts and food vendors will also be at the festivities.
Those interested in being a vendor may contact Susan Crownover, president of the Eagle Rock Friends of the Library, at 417-271-3386.
