Medallion Hunt offers journey in Eagle Rock, Golden, Mano
First of 7 clues to be given Sunday
The third annual Medallion Hunt is set to take place throughout Eagle Rock, Golden and Mano from Sunday to Oct. 25.
Starting Sunday, clues may be found outside the Eagle Rock Branch Library, located at 27824 Missouri 86, the Eagle Rock-Golden-Mano Fire Protection District in Eagle Rock, on Highway 86, and the Community Connection in Eagle Rock, located at 28750 Highway P, said John Stilwell, president of the Eagle Rock Community Association.
Each day will offer a separate clue until someone finds the medallion. If the winner is a member of the association, he or she receives $500 at 2 p.m. on Oct. 25 after the Eagle Rock Daze Car Show at the Eagle Rock Community Center, on Highway 86 just south of Highway F. A non-member receives $100.
People do not have to be an Eagle Rock resident to join the association, which costs $20 per year, he said.
The Medallion Hunt is a fun thing for families, Stilwell said.
"We do see carloads of people driving around looking for [the medallion]," he said.
After a person finds the medallion, there are instructions on it to call Stilwell, he said. The medallion also has something written on it to make sure the winner is genuine.
For more information, people may contact Stilwell at 417-342-7923.
