Cassville High School hosting food drive

Cassville High School students involved in FBLA, FCCLA, FFA and FTA are collaborating to collect non-perishable food items on Oct. 28 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Students will be going door-to-door and trick-or-treating for the food items, all of which will be donated to the local food pantry.

Health Department hosting breastfeeding support group

The Barry County Health Department is hosting a breastfeeding support group on Oct. 24 from 10 a.m to noon, and from 2-4 p.m. at the WIC Office located on Main Street. The group will feature free breastfeeding support services, and snacks will be provided.

Flu shots offered Friday at Cassville Senior Center

The Cassville Senior Center will host a flu shot clinic on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, provided by the Barry County Health Department. The cost is $40 for the high dose vaccine, and $30 for the quad (four strains) flu vaccine. Medicare and private insurance will be assessed for payment. Those wishing to get a shot must bring all Medicare and supplemental insurance cards. For more information, people may call 417-847-4510.

Eagle Rock Library hosting Little Miss, Little Mr. Eagle Rock

The Eagle Rock Library is looking for the Next Little Miss and Little Mr. Eagle Rock. The competition is open to all children ages seven and under. To enter, parents should submit photo to the library by 5 p.m. on Friday. There should be no name on the front of the photos, but parents should include the child's name and a way for the library to return the photos. The winners will be announced at the 5th Annual Howl-O-Ween Fest on Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. Winners need not be present to win. Eagle Rock Home School Class to meet

The Eagle Rock October Home School Class will be meeting on Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Eagle Rock Library. This month, students will be learning cake and cookie decorating. Children ages 6-17 are encouraged to attend. Parents should contact the library if a child is not registered for the program. For more information, people may call Jennifer at 417-271-3186.
