Cassville Senior Center Dance set for Saturday

The Cassville Senior Center, located at 1111 Fair Street, will host its monthly dance on Saturday from 7-10 p.m., with music provided by the Roaring River Sounds Band. There is a $4 cover charge at the door, with all proceeds going to support the Senior Center. Finger foods are welcomed. Eagle Rock Library hosting

Little Miss, Little Mr. Eagle Rock

The Eagle Rock Library is looking for the Next Little Miss and Little Mr. Eagle Rock. The competition is open to all children ages seven and under. To enter, parents should submit photo to the library by 5 p.m. on Oct. 17. There should be no name on the front of the photos, but parents should include the child's name and a way for the library to return the photos. The winners will be announced at the 5th Annual Howl-O-Ween Fest on Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. Winners need not be present to win. Jordan River Quartet to perform Sunday

The Jordan River Quartet will be in concert at the New Hope Baptist Church on Sunday starting at 6 p.m. The church is located three miles west of Highway 37 on Highway W, then 3/4 mile north on Farm Road 1052. For more information, people may call 417-442-9357.

Eagle Rock Home School Class to meet Oct. 16

The Eagle Rock October Home School Class will be meeting on Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Eagle Rock Library. This month, students will be learning cake and cookie decorating. Shell Knob Chamber director resigning

Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Karen Elsey is voluntarily retiring from the position effective in mid-October. The chamber is now accepting applications to fill the position.

Ducks Unlimited hosting member dinner on Saturday

Barry/Lawrence County Ducks Unlimited will hold its annual member dinner on Oct. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church Parish Hall. A silent auction and social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. with live auction following. Tickets are $35 for a single, $50 for a couple and $15 for a Greenwing. Seligman Chamber taking reservations for fall train ride

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce is taking reservations for the fall train ride from Seligman to Van Buren, Ark., on Saturday and Sunday. Coinciding with Arts and Craft days in Van Buren, the train ride allows participants to travel the Boston Mountains, shop in old Van Buren, and hear music in the street.
