Dale L. Groom
Dale L. Groom, 88, of Cassville, passed away in his home surrounded by his family on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014. He was born on Aug. 22, 1926, son of Orion and Ethel (Macinturf) Groom, in Clyde. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. He later graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor's degree in agriculture. On Nov. 7, 1980, he was united in marriage to Edna Alberta (Ottinger) Adams in Miami, Okla.
Survivors include: his wife, Edna Groom, of Cassville; three sons, Gerald Groom, of Pleasant Hill, Marion "Lee" Groom and his wife, Tama, of Stanberry, and Kenneth Groom and his wife, Beth, of Cabool; four daughters, Margaret Wolf and her husband, John, of Platte City, Gloria Jackson and her husband, Jack, of Mansfield, Jennifer Baxley and her husband, Joe Bob, of Cassville, and Rebecca Groom, of Cassville; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one sister in-law, Melva Groom, of Corpus Christi, Texas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Groom, and one sister, Margaret Reece.

Memorial services with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, at the White Funeral Home and Crematory.
