Thelma House, 97, of Cassville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, in Cassville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 17, 1917, in Washburn, the daughter of William and Myrtle (Gebhart) Lawrence. On Dec. 2, 1937, in Bentonville, Ark., she was united in marriage to William House, who preceded her in death on May 6, 1989. Also preceding her in death were her parents; four infant sons; three sisters, Ruth, Freda and Opal; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include: one son, Kenneth House and his wife, Carol, of Cassville.; two daughters, Patricia Allison and her husband, Floyd, and Linda Thomas and her husband, Clyde, all of Cassville; two sisters, Willabee Reed, of Yakima, Wash., and Jessie Wilson, of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She grew up and received her education at Washburn, graduating from Southwest High School. She was a life-long resident and business owner. She and her husband owned and operated House Handle Factory and Surplus City. She was a member of Cassville First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor James Weaver will conduct the services. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
