Clay Wess Atkinson
Clay Wess Atkinson, 55, of Washburn, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, in Cassville.
He was born Dec. 31, 1958, in Garden City, Kan.
Survivors include: his parents, James and Dolores (Carroll) Atkinson, of Washburn; his companion and friend, Diane Atkinson Baker, and her husband, Randy, of Seligman. He and Diane had three children, Sarah Elisabeth, James Elijah Clay, and Molly Diane Atkinson, who survive.
Additional survivors include: a son, Casey Hood, of Monett; a daughter, Stephanie Stanton and her husband, Rob, of Waterford, Mich.; three brothers, Rick Atkinson and his wife, Linda, of Pea Ridge, Ark., Kenyon Atkinson and his wife, Carol, of Cassville, and Aaron Atkinson, of Washburn; three sisters, Vicki Vinson of Pensacola, Fla., Lisa Rataczak and her husband, William, of Pineville, Ark., and Teresa Jones, of Bentonville, Ark.; and one granddaughter.
He grew up and received his education in Garden City, Kan. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Thirty years ago, to Washburn, to make his home, where he was a self-employed auto body repairman.
He will be buried at the City of Rogers Cemetery in Rogers, Ark. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
