Kornerstone 5K to be held Saturday

People may still register for Kornerstone's 5K, benefitting its Teen Mom program, on Saturday. The 5K begins and ends at the Cassville Aquatic Center and travels 3.1 miles along Sale Barn Road and through the country. The race begins at 9 a.m. Registration will be open the morning of the race.

New Hope Baptist hosting 
revival beginning Sunday

New Hope Baptist Church will host a revival from Sept. 14-17. Sunday services are at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Services Monday through Wednesday will be at 7 p.m. Evangalists Tony Ball, Freddy Blevins and Paul Wahlert will speak on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. There will be special music each evening. The church is located three miles west of Highway 37 on Highway W, then 3/4 mile north on Farm Road 1052. Eagle Rock Library offers home school program

The Eagle Rock Library will be offering a home school program again this year. Every other year, the library does a full Art class, but this is its off year, so the library is instead doing a "The Art of..." Class. There will be seven different speakers coming in once a month to teach the children something new. There will be an animal identification class, a cooking class, basket weaving, pottery, a building class and more. People may stop by the library or call 417-271-3186 to sign up a child, or get more information.

Cassville Primary School 
seeing T-shirt sponsors

Cassville Primary School is looking for T-shirt sponsors for its Positive Behavior Support System program. Every Monday, over 500 staff and students alike wear the "Cattitude" T-shirts with the "Cattitude" pledge; Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. This is only one of the many things the Primary school does in the Positive Behavior Support program to help foster greater character and academic success in young student's lives. Leann concert, pie auction set for Sept. 20

The Leann Cemetery Association will host an afternoon and evening of music on Sept. 20, beginning at 2 p.m. An added feature will be a pie auction at 6 p.m. The program is free, but contributions of pies for the auction would be appreciated. A concession stand will be available. The Leann Cemetery is located 10 miles south of Aurora on Highway 39. Weather permitting, the event will be held in the yard, so attendees should bring lawn chairs. Frosty Garland and The Road Hawgs will kick off the program, and others wanting to schedule performances should contact President Gene Swadley at 417-847-7157. All music performers and singers are welcome. The cemetery association is in need of funds for mowing and maintenance expenses. The cemetery is funded solely on donations, mostly given during Memorial Day weekend. For more information, people may contact Secretary Ruby Vincent at 574-6323.

Cole/Still Family Reunion to be held Sunday

The Cole/Still Family Reunion will be held Sunday at noon at Duncan Park in Thomas Hollow. Tableware, plates, cups and drinks will be provided. Attendees should bring a covered dish and lawn chairs.

Cassville Branch library taking 
registrations for preschool story time

The Cassville Branch Library is now taking registrations for the preschool story time sessions, which begin in September. Class sizes are limited, and people may call the library at 417-847-2121 for more information. The library is also showing a movie, "The Amazing Spiderman 2," on Thursday at 6 p.m. The movie is rated PG-13.

Frontier Day set for Sept. 27

The 2nd Annual Frontier Day will be held on Sept. 27 beginning at 10 a.m. Events will include: sorghum cookin', rope-making, apple butter, blacksmithing, dutch oven cookin', buggy rides, lye soap, live music and kettle corn. The event is free to the public and concessions and restrooms will be available. Frontier Day will be help on Highway 248, seven miles east of Cassville to Farm Road 1157, then left about 3/4 miles, or, west from Highway 39 seven miles on Highway 248 then right on Farm Road 1157.
