William "Bill" George Jereczek

William "Bill" George Jereczek, 84, of Cassville, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at his home. Mr. Jereczek, son of Valentine and Caroline (Domning) Jereczek, was born on June 22, 1930, in St. Paul, Minn.

In July of 1947, Bill enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a Navy Seabee during the Korean Conflict. He began his career in the construction business as heavy equipment operator in Ventura, California.

On Oct. 28, 1962, he was united in marriage to Carol Louise Fowler in Las Vegas, Nev. They relocated to Cassville from California in 1984, where he continued his construction work and owed and operated Barry County Hydraulics for several years before retiring in 2011.

Survivors include his wife, Carol, of Cassville; one son, Michael Jereczek, of Cassville; two daughters, Cynthia Nelson, and her husband, Lee, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Michele Jereczek, of Cassville; one brother, Eugene Jereczek, of Mound, Minn.; and nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. at the St. Edward's Catholic Church in Cassville, with The Reverend John S. Braun, celebrant. Full military honors will be performed by Hobbs- Anderson American Legion Post No. 91 from Monett. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Blythedale.
