Sheriff's Office celebrates

Barry County Deputy Larry Stockton, left, accepts a retirement plaque Friday from Sheriff Mick Epperly. Stockton worked for the Sheriff's Office for 18 years. Friday was his last day. "I've loved my entire time [at the Sheriff's Office], especially with the D.A.R.E program and being a role model for kids," said Stockton, who plans to work for Probation and Parole with the state in Cassville. Barry County Chief Deputy Leonard Collins, right, accepts a service plaque Friday from Sheriff Mick Epperly. Collins started at the Cassville Police Department in 1987. He has been at the Sheriff's Office since 1995. Before he became a chief deputy, Collins said he was a road deputy, a road supervisor and then a detective.
