Two injured in 3-car pile up on Highway 37

For the second time in less than a week, three cars were involved in a wreck on Highway 37 in Purdy.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, at about 7 p.m. Wednesday, Mynor Lopez, 30, of Purdy, in a 1996 Honda Accord, and Michelle Scrivner, 21, of Mount Vernon, in a 2010 KIA Sportage SUV, were driving northbound on Highway 37.

Lopez's vehicle stopped to make a left turn and was hit from behind by Scrivner's vehicle. The impact pushed Lopez's Accord into the path of a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox, being driven by Allison Johnson, 24, of Cassville. Johnson's vehicle hit the Accord, ran off the roadway and overturned.

Scrivner and Johnson each suffered moderate injuries and were both transported by EMS to Cox Hospital in Monett. Lopez suffered no injuries.

All three involved in the wreck were wearing safety devices at the time of the incident.

The Purdy Police Department assisted Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in working the accident.
