Roland Claude Clancy
Roland Claude Clancy, 84, of Cassville, passed away in his home on Sunday, July 27, 2014. He was born on June 17, 1930, in Perkins, Okla., son of Claude Everett and Pearl (Courtright) Clancy. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served for 20 years before retiring. He was united in marriage to Marlene Hall on June 17, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Upon retirement he became a stay at home dad to his six children. He was a minister with the Church of Christ and was active in the Church of Christ in Washburn.
Survivors include: his wife of 64 years, Marlene, of Cassville; five sons, Scott and his wife, Vickie, of Cassville, Rocky Clancy and his wife, Ruby, of Russellville, Ark., Gordon Clancy, of Maysville, Ky., Duane and his wife, Ginger, of Appleton, Ark., and Glenn Clancy, of Fayetteville, Ark.; two sisters, Wanda Kinsey, of Allen, Texas, and Sandra Niblett, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Brian Clancy, and one brother, Mahlon Clancy.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Washburn Church of Christ, Washburn, with Minister Ken West officiating.
