Wanda Maud Stewart
Wanda Maud Stewart, 84, of Purdy, passed away Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, in Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
She was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Shidler, Okla., the daughter of Samuel Anson and Maud Rebecca (Blankinship) Starks. On Nov. 3, 1948, in Benton County, Ark., she was united in marriage to Bernard W. Stewart, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers, Ed, Bill and Roy Starks.
Survivor include: three sons, Charles Robert Stewart and his wife, Lois, of Purdy, Daniel Eugene Stewart and his wife, Keturah, of Fairview, and William Franklin Stewart of Purdy; two daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Wogoman and her husband, Joe, of Purdy, and ReneeĻ Louise Proctor and her husband, Danny, of Rocky Comfort; one sister, Dorothy Baysinger, of Arkansas City, Kan.; nine grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She grew up and received her education in Shidler, Okla., where she graduated from high school. In 1967, she moved to Wheaton. Funeral services were held Tuesday in New Freedom Worship Center, Purdy, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor John Hile conducted the services. Burial was at Muncie Chapel Cemetery, Wheaton.
