Seligman man dies in Hwy. 90 wreck
Passenger in vehicle pronounced dead at the scene
A Seligman man died Sunday night after being involved in a one-vehicle wreck on Hwy. 90, two miles west of Seligman, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Kenneth Patterson, 48, of Seligman, was the passenger in a 1979 Chevrolet Corvette being driven by Brian Sharp, 31, of Seligman. While driving on Hwy. 90, Sharp's vehicle ran off the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned. Neither Patterson nor Sharp was wearing a safety device.
Patterson was pronounced dead at the scene by Barry County Deputy Coroner Charles McManus at 6:50 p.m. His body was transported to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Sharp was not injured.
The death marks the 59th fatality of the year for Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, which covers 18 southwest MIssouri counties, including Barry County.
