Carl H. Berry
Carl H. Berry, 76, of Monett, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014, in Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
He was born Sept. 24, 1937, in Lamar, Colo., the son of George Washington and Lois Wilma (Jones) Berry. On March 13, 1972, in Colorado, he was united in marriage to Katherine M. Montgomery, who preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 2012. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one son; three brothers; one sister; one grandson; two great grandchildren; and a son-in-law.
Survivors include: one daughter, Virginia Welch, of Monett; one son, Forrest Palmatier and his wife, D'Etta, of Bethel Heights, Ark.; two brothers, Owen Berry, of Kellyville, Okla., and Ralph Berry, of Modesto, Calif.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
He grew up and received his education in Lamar, Colo. At the end of the Korean War he joined the U.S. Navy, serving until Dec. 20, 1961. He had resided in Exeter for 13 years, before moving to Monett. He was a self-employed Painter. He was a member of VFW.
Memorial services were held Monday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Chaplain Jack Betts conducted the services. Burial with military honors were today (Wednesday) in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
