Gloria Jean Hayworth,
Gloria Jean Hayworth, 70, of Washburn, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, in her home.
She was born March 4, 1944, in Bixby, Okla., the daughter of Eugene K. and Ella Marie (Beede) Lakey. On May 5, 1962, she was united in marriage to Jimmie Hayworth, who survives.
Additional survivors inlcude: two sons, Donald Hayworth and his wife, Tina, and Rick Hayworth and his wife, Reva, all of Washburn; three daughters, Angel Akin and her mate, Charles Perry, of Cassville, Penny Beck and her mate, Darrin Butts, of Marshfield, and April Randel, of Washburn; one brother, Eugene "Sonny" Lakey, Jr., of Cassville; two sisters, Druzella Riveria, of Eagle Rock, and Eupha Galyen, of Dodge City, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Russell; two brothers, Herschel Lakey and Fred Lakey; and one sister, Nina Giddings.
She received her elementary education in Wichita, Kan., and high school at Washburn, graduating from Southwest High School. For several years, she worked for South Barry County Hospital and was a clerk at Walmart for a few years. She was known as "The Pioneer Lady." She was a member of Washburn First Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held Monday at Washburn Prairie Cemetery, Washburn, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Jim Erwin and Rev. Glenn Erwin conducted the services.
