Middle school football camp date announced

Cassville Middle School Football camp will be held Aug. 4-8 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the practice field. Players should report to the middle school locker room to check in with coaches. Equipment checkout will be Aug. 7 for eighth graders and Aug. 8 for seventh graders. Equipment will be checked out after camp on those nights.

CHS football alumni sought

For the second consecutive year, Cassville Football Head Coach Lance Parnell, in conjunction with Cassville High School, is inviting former Wildcat players to be a part of the Alumni Night at the Wildcats' Aug. 29 game against Mountain Grove.

The Cassville Wildcat Football program invites all football alumni who played the 1960-1964 football seasons (Graduating Classes 1961-1965).

Check-in will begin in the north end zone at 5:45 p.m., with pregame refreshments provided.

Attendees will have access to the home sideline during the pregame warm-up, and they will be recognized before the game. Those wishing too attend are asked to RSVP by Aug. 1 to with the following information: Name, graduation year, positions played and jersey number.

Southwest High School 
to play fall baseball

Southwest High School will be playing fall baseball this year. Practice is slated to begin Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Players must have a new physical on file before being eligible to practice. For more information, people may call coach Kenny Ferguson at 417-342-5496.

Southwest offering 
physicals for athletes

Southwest High School, along with Mercy Clinics, will be offering sports physicals for all Southwest students planning on participating in sports the 2014-15 school year. The service is offered to all athletes at Southwest entering grades five through 12. The physicals will be on July 30 at 8:30 a.m. in the high school gym and will run until no one is left. The cost is $5, and the forms can be picked up in the high school and middle school offices after July 22. The forms are MSHSAA forms and must be filled out ahead of time.
