Signs, promotional items top list of expenditures

Candidates for Barry County prosecuting attorney have released campaign finance reports, detailing each candidate's contributions and expenditures.

Amy Boxx, 42, of Monett, raised the most money for her campaign at $3,800. All of her fundraising, less a $50 donation, is listed as a 6-month loan from Boxx.

The report said she spent $279.50 in expenditures less than $100, which include a payment to County Clerk Gary Youngblood for the voter list, purchasing an event booth with the Monett Chamber of Commerce, photos from Chuck Nickle Photography, fireworks and sign placement from Ken Terry, and two months worth of service charges from Community National Bank.

In expenditures over $100, Boxx spent $1,772.25 on signs from the Victory Store, of Davenport, Iowa; $401.96 on cards from Sign Ex in Monett; $193.46 for T-shirts and banners from Sign Ex; and $754 for hand fans and pens from Capitol Promotions Inc. of Glenside, Penn.

The expenditures leave Boxx with $398.83 in hand.

Matt Weatherman, 30, of Golden, has raised $2,411.84 for his campaign, including a $1,000 individual donation and $1,411.84 of his own money.

His report said he spent $526.90 in expenditures less than $100, including four newspaper ads, two booth rentals, campaign cards and campaign T-shirts. In expenditures over $100, Weatherman spent $651.88 on signs with 24/7 Super Cheap Signs, of Austin, Texas; $253.74 on campaign banners from Backroad Prints and Design of Washburn; and $157.96 for hand fans from

Weatherman's expenditures leave him with $821.36 in cash on hand.

Steve Dunker, 50, of Cassville, reported $1,035.75 in campaign contributions, including $878.75 of in-kind contributions from Dunker, a $100 cash donation, and a $57 in-kind donation.

Dunker's expenditures less than $100 include $144.93 in the combination of postage fees and office supplies. Dunker also spent $25 for the Purdy fireworks show. In expenditures over $100, Dunker spent $349 on signs from Big Daddy Signs, of Winter Garden, Fla.; $248.95 for T-shirts and cards from Vista Print's website; and $110.87 in Facebook advertising.

Dunker's expenditures leave him with $100 in cash on hand.

Each of the campaign finance reports details contributions and expenditures through June 30.
