New hope Baptist Church hosting VBS

New Hope Baptist Church will host Vacation Bible School from July 28 to Aug. 1 from 6-8 p.m. The theme is, "Weird Animals: Where Jesus' Love is One of a Kind." Brian Arnold to give concert in Wheaton

Brian Arnold, also known as "America's Favorite One-Handed Pianist," will host a concert at the Body of Christ Outreach Center, located at 501 S. Gillman St., in Wheaton on Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. For more information about the show, people may call 417-652-3709.

Exeter hosting kindergarten screenings

Exeter Elementary School is hosting its kindergarten screenings on Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. To set up an appointment, parents should call the elementary office at 417-835-2922. Parents should also bring a birth certificate, an immunization record, proof of residency and the child's Social Security number. Children must be five years old on or before July 31 to enter kindergarten. Children must be four years old on or before July 31 to enter pre-school.

Wheaton VFD sets date for annual barbecue

The Wheaton Volunteer Fire Department has set its annual barbecue for Saturday, Aug. 23 in Wheaton's city park. There will be free rides for children beginning at 1 p.m. and continuing throughout the day. Large tents will be set up for crafters. There will be no charge for the booth spaces, and anyone interested in a space may call Lindy Lombard at 417-652-7359 to reserve a spot. Grandstand entertainment will begin at 1 p.m. and continue throughout the afternoon and evening until the annual duck race in the park at 8 p.m. At 8:30 p.m., The Black Moods will end the evening with a concert. More information will be available later, and anyone with questions may call Lombard.

CHS graduation DVDs now available

The Cassville High School Class of 2014 Graduation DVDs are now available for purchase through the high school office for $5 each. For more information, call the high school at 417-847-3137.
