Oakley Dale Soutee
Oakley Dale Soutee, 89, of Marionville, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014, while at his home. He was born on Jan. 25, 1925, in Taney County, son of the late H.M. Soutee and Clara Soutee (Dillon). He graduated from Marionville High School in 1942 and went on to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia for a semester. In 1943, He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He was united in marriage to Betty Lou Rickman on June 15, 1946. He worked for the Springfield Union Stockyards for 23 years. He was then self-employed for the next 35 years as a commercial electrical contractor. Dale bred, raised and raced thoroughbred horses for about 20 years. After being widowed, he was united in marriage to Dixie Maples on April 15, 2000.
Survivors include: his wife, Dixie, of the home; two sisters, Doris Rapp, of Marionville, and Dorothy McKenzie, of Aurora; two sons, Stephen R. Soutee, of Fairview, and Tommy Dale Soutee, of Marionville; three stepsons, Bryan Prow, of Marionville, Dwight Prow, of Springfield, and Nathan Prow, of Springfield; six grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, H.M. Soutee and Clara Soutee; his two brothers, Doug Soutee and Don Soutee; his son, Knial Soutee.
A Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the IOOF cemetery in Marionville. Pastor Lee Miller will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the VFW in Monett, MO. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
