Booklets with
parcel descriptions, photos also
available

Barry County Collector Janice Varner is preparing for the annual Barry County delinquent land tax sale, slated to begin at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 25, at the historic Barry County Courthouse in Cassville.

Missouri law requires that land with three years of delinquent taxes sell on the fourth Monday of August each year.

The first publication of this sale will appear in the Cassville Democrat on July 16, at which time copies will be available in the collector's office. The tax sale listing, with approximately 236 properties, can be viewed at BarryCountyCollector.com. The site will be updated as parcels are paid.

Owners have one year from the date of the sale to redeem their properties.

Barry County Assessor Sherry Sears will have booklets containing parcels that will be offered on the land sale. Booklets contain descriptions and photos of the properties offered for sale, and will be available for a nominal fee.

"Sherry has been working on this project for some time and is very proud to be able to offer this," Varner said.

People who are interested in purchasing one of these booklets can contact the assessor's office at 417-847-4589.
