MARS series highlights holiday
Track brings in best racers on July 3
The Monett Speedway is hoping this Independence Day weekend culminates with fireworks on the track as they welcome the Midwest Auto Racing Series (MARS) into town.
"We have the best dirt track drivers in the country coming to our track this week," said Randy Mooneyham, speedway owner. "The rare Thursday night race just adds a little more excitement to this week."
In addition to the MARS cars, the Grand Old Lady also hosts, B-Modified, Pro4, Factory Stock and Pure Stock cars features on Thursday.
In the MARS point standings, Tony Jackson Jr., is the current leader with 768 points. Justin Asplin is second with 737, and Jesse Stovall is third with 726.
Gates will open at 6 p.m., with races starting at 8.
