Sturgell finalist for pre-teen pageant

Rebelle Sturgell, 12, of Cato, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Pageant, to be held June 30 in Columbia. The pageant is for girls ages 4 to 18 competing in five different divisions.

Sturgell will be participating in the pre-teen division with other young ladies from across the state for prizes ranging from scholarships to a Ford Mustang and an all-expanse paid trip to Disneyland.

Sturgell's activities include hunting, fishing and baking. She is an active member of Bridgeway Assembly of God Church in Shell Knob. Rebelle is organizing a fundraising event to benefit for Children's Miracle Network later this summer.

She is the daughter of Randal and Connie Sturgell of Cato, and the granddaughter of Dorman Sturgell and the late Isabelle Sturgell of Aurora, and the late Oliver and Doris Ash, of Purdy. Contributed photo
