Cassville Rotary Club prepares for 72nd annual rodeo; IPRA stock producer of the year will be featured
The Cassville Rotary Club's annual rodeo usually draws up to 900 people the second night, and organizers expect that many people, if not more, this year.
The club will host its 72nd annual rodeo at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21 at the Bill Hailey Arena.
Attendance to the event has grown steadily each year, a trend organizers expect to continue, according to Stan Kelley, president and CEO of Freedom Bank and Cassville Rotary Club Rodeo Committee chairman.
"The Rotary Rodeo is an excellent family-friendly event that provides a fun, outdoor atmosphere with activities for everyone," Kelley said.
The rodeo will feature a horseback drill-team performance by the Rounders Quadrill from northwest Arkansas. The IPRA Stock Producer of the Year, Hampton Rodeo Company of Springdale, Ark., will be supplying the stock again.
"The producer, Hampton Rodeo Company, has some of the top stock in the country and seeing that quality here in Cassville is pretty impressive," Kelley said. "It makes it one of the better rodeos in the area."
Hampton Rodeo has provided rodeo stock for the event for numerous years.
The rodeo will also feature events such as bull riding, bareback riding, calf roping, cowgirl barrel racing and steer wrestling. For younger children more inclined to want to experience the action, there will be a calf scramble for anyone 10 or younger.
The Rotary Rodeo raises funds for other Rotary projects both locally and internationally. The purpose of the event is to provide Cassville with fun, safe, and affordable entertainment while increasing the Rotary Club's community presence, according to event organizers.
Admission into the event will cost $10 for adults and $5 for children between the ages of 6-12.
People may see a Cassville Rotary Club member to buy tickets in advance, and receive a $2 discount on adult tickets.
The Bill Hailey Arena is located off Business Highway 37 on Rodeo Road.
