Eagle Rock Farmers' Market under new management; New name: Eagle Rock Market
The Eagle Rock Farmers' Market is under new management and has a new name and hours of operation.
Now called the Eagle Rock Market, and is open from 8 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday at the Eagle Rock Community Association/Eagle Rock Library, located at 27824 on Highway 86. Market managers are Dori and Jon Thomas, of Eagle Rock. Both have years of event coordination experience.
"We are looking forward to helping the market have its biggest impact on the community," said Dori. "Jon and I both believe that sharing abundance with our neighbors is in everyone's best interest."
Farmers, bakers and arts and crafts vendors have already begun selling items on Tuesdays. Looking to expand, market managers are seeking participants who are focused on quality, service and innovation. Vendors and demonstrators are welcome to join the market. All items sold at the market must be handmade, homemade or homegrown.
Vendors do not have to pay a fee to participate in this community event. Those with demonstrations, public talks or presentations are also welcome. Face-painters, balloon artists and family-friendly activities are needed. Musicians are welcome to entertain for tips and sell their compact discs.
The Eagle Rock Community Association.Eagle Rock Library is hosting the market.
"We hope this weekly event will encourage local residents to 'buy local, buy fresh,'" said Dori. "The Eagle Rock Market will offer the opportunity
to come together for prosperity and health by eating fresh, locally grown and made foods, which supports our local farmers and growers. It will provide a platform in which the community can become aware of amazing local artisans and what they have to offer."
