Ronnie E. Holt
Ronnie E. Holt, 67, of Urbana, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014, in his home.
He was born Dec. 15, 1946, in Walsh, Colo., the son of Howard E. and Betty Louise (Grass) Holt. On June 20, 1964, in Cassville, he was united in marriage to Jacqueline "Jackie" Berning, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, Matthew Holt and his wife, Karina, of Urbana; three daughters, Ronda Joseph and her husband, Tim, of Covington, La., Cristina Gray and her husband, Kevin, of Shawnee, Kan., and Tiffany Curry, of Galmey; eight grandchildren; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Helen and John Berning, of Exeter.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother Donnie Holt.
He was a 1964 graduate of Cassville High School. During the Vietnam War, he joined the U.S. Army, serving from Dec. 13, 1965, to July 2, 1972. For eight years, he resided in Fairbanks, Aka., then returned to Missouri before moving west to Reno, Nev. He moved to Urbana eight years ago to make his home. He was a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of the Eagles, American Legion #118 and Disabled American Veterans and attended the Baptist Church.
Graveside services with military honors were held Friday at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor James Weaver conducted the services.
