Paul E. Cordell
Paul E. Cordell, 89, of Muskogee, Okla., formerly of Rocky Comfort, passed away Wednesday May 21, 2014, at the Claremore Veterans Center in Claremore, Okla. He was born Oct. 20, 1924, in Bristow, Okla., the son of Henry A. Cordell and Lida Devore Cordell. At age 18, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. and was honorably discharged in 1946.
He married Wanda Pixley on Aug. 31, 1943. He worked for American Airlines as a welder, where he retired after 28 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles (Buster) and H.A. Cordell; and sister, Margaret Cordell.
Survivors include: his wife of 70 years, Wanda, of the home; adopted sons, Thomas Williams and Janece, of Muskogee, Okla., George Williams and Valerie, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and sisters, Ada Mae Potter and Betty Lou McGuire.
Services were held at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Okla., on May 23.
