Campbell Point Marina in Shell Knob suffered significant damage in recent storms that hit southern Barry County.

The storm hit the marina at 3 a.m. Thursday. The straight-line wind and hail pulled the marina's largest houseboat dock loose from its cables and flipped it upside down onto the houseboat next to it.

The dock was deemed a total loss by recovery crews. The dock next to it is 75 percent debris, according to Gene Stimble, Campbell Point Marina owner.

Stimble closed the marina Thursday to allow workers and recovery crews to clean up the area. All other piers and docks remain unharmed, and the marina will remain open while docks are rebuilt.

"No injuries were sustained from the storms, and that's all that really matters," Stimble said. "Only two docks were damaged, and the rest will remain open."

The Campbell Point Marina is located in the central region of Table Rock Lake. Several trees surrounding the lake were ripped from the ground.
