Junior golf league

looking for players

The Monett Junior Golf League is enrolling youth golfers. The league is set to begin at 9 a.m. Thursday. The cost is $10 to join with a $5 green fee. The league's championship tournament is set for July 31. For more information, people may contact Windmill Ridge Golf Course at 235-6076.

Aurora Chamber

plans golf tournament

The Aurora Chamber of Commerce four-person scramble golf tournament is slated for Saturday, July 19, at Honey Creek Golf Club.

Entries are being accepted with a fee of $240 per four-member team. Entry fees cover 18 holes, cart and closest to pin contest. Lunch will be provided for all participants. Entries are limited to the first 21 teams and the deadline for reservations is Friday, July 11.

Mark Welch Memorial Golf Tournament set for June 1

The 24th annual Mark Welch Memorial Golf Tournament will be Sunday, June 1, at Honey Creek Golf Club, located five miles north of Aurora.

Tee times are 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Five-person teams are being solicited. Proceeds benefit the family of a local resident who suffers from major illness.

Junior golf camp

sign-ups underway

Sign-ups for the 18th annual golf camp at Sycamore Valley Golf driving range are underway.

The camp runs from June 3-5. Students ages 5-15 are eligible, and admission is free.

Golfers will learn the fundamentals of the golf swing, putting, chipping, the rules of golf and golf etiquette.
