Shell Knob Library to start Summer Reading Program

Wednesday, May 28, 2014

The Shell Knob Branch Library is kicking off its summer reading program.

"Reading takes you on an adventure," Suzy Anglim branch supervisor said. "We do the program in order to promote summer reading, and get kids to keep up those reading skills."

Students can sign up to complete their summer reading contract and win prizes. In addition, free events will be offered at the library for anyone who wants to attend. The programs will feature guests from Dickerson Park Zoo, RLP Puppet Company and science labs.

This year will be the second year for the adult summer reading program, and in addition to attending events throughout the summer, adults can register and fill out a form for every book they read during the summer, which will be put into a drawing.

For a full list of events, people may contact the library at 417-858-3618.
