Rockin' in the Shell set for June 28
If the Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce has its way in June, the Chamber Park will be one Rockin' venue.
The chamber is getting ready for its first music festival, Rockin' in the Shell, which will be held June 28 in the Chamber Park from 7-10 p.m.
The live concert and dance event aims to raise money for the Chamber Park.
The event will feature a concert by J Rock and the Third Street Band, with lead singer Josh Davison. Tickets are $5 for adults, and children 18-and-under are free.
"There is a lot to do to bring the park up to par," said Kim Przybyl, who is spearheading the event. "Things need repairs, it needs mowed, more land needs to be bought for parking, and the area needs to be maintained so that we can use it for community events."
Przybyl said that the Chamber will be selling beer and concessions, and attendees should bring lawn chairs.
"It should be a fun family event with great music and nice weather," she said. "I look forward to seeing the kids having a good time and the parents enjoying themselves."
Przybyl said that if the event goes well, they may make it an annual event, and plans are in the process for other community events to be held at the park.
If there is inclement weather on June 28, a rain date has been set for July 12.
