Carl Zomar Anderson
Carl Zomar Anderson, 76, of Seligman, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, in his home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1937, in Barry County, the son of John Simpson and Minnie (Vanzandt) Anderson. On Feb. 15, 1965, he was united in marriage to Lola Tisher, who survives. Additional survivors include: five sisters-in-law, Wanda Anderson, of Seligman, Gladys Anderson, of Rogers, Ark., Shirley Thomas and her husband, Lyndol, of Washburn, Diane Bittle and her husband, Richard, of Reeds Spring, and Wanda Hachmeister, of Seligman.
Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Denzil, Lamoin, Dale and Donnie and one sister, Charlene.
He grew up in Barry County and received his education at Washburn, graduating from Southwest High School. He then entered the U.S. Army, serving from Aug. 9, 1961, until May 21, 1963. For 15 years, he was employed with Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., and then worked for the City of Wichita as a road maintainer. In 1995, he retired and moved to Seligman. He was a member of Washburn First Baptist Church and served on the King Cemetery Board.
Graveside services with military honors were held Tuesday in King Cemetery, Seligman under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Glenn Erwin and Rev. Jim Erwin conducted the services.
