Thomas Lavern Clark

Thomas Lavern Clark, 65, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville.

He was born Jan. 15, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Robert and Evelyn (Hess) Clark. On Dec. 24, 1977, in Shell Knob, he was united in marriage to Teri Lynn Brennan, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one daughter, Nicole Casstillo and her husband, Santos, of Amarillo, Texas; his father, Robert Clark, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one brother, Don Clark, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one sister, Linda Otton and her husband, Steve, of Iowa; and five grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his mother, stepfather and stepmother.

He grew up and received his education in Iowa, where he graduated from high school. He was a licensed barber. During the Vietnam War, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving from May 25, 1970, until May 17, 1974. After the service, he worked in construction as a roofer for Burnett Roofing Company in California. Around 20 years ago he moved to Shell Knob. He was a member of American Legion, Central Crossing Masonic Lodge #674 and the Shell Knob Shrine and had been named Shriner of the Year.

Services were held today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Burial with military honors was at Painter Cemetery, Shell Knob.
