Karen J. Jennings
Karen J. Jennings, 61, of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in her home. She was born on May 10, 1953, in Santa Cruz, Calif., daughter of Al and Alice (Ely) Holbrook. She was a graduate of Santa Cruz High School. On Aug. 12, 1978, she was united in marriage to Al Jennings, in Santa Cruz, and he survives. She worked as a administrative secretary for the Boy and Girls Club in Stockton, Calif., and the Watsonville High School. They moved to Rogers, Ark., in 2002, where she was employed with the Office of Human Concern. For the past 11 years, she has made Cassville her home. In 2013, she took the position of City Clerk for the City of Cassville.
Survivors include: her husband of 36 years, Al Jennings, of Cassville; one daughter, Katie Correia and her husband, Michael, of Cassville; one stepdaughter Rebecca, and her husband, Michael, of Georgia; one stepson, Allan Jennings and his wife, Staci, of California; her brother, Lee Holbrook, of Missouri; her mother- in-law, Annabelle Jennings, of Cassville; two granddaughters; and five other grandchildren. In addition to her parents Al and Margo Holbrook and Edward and Alice Sharpe, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Eddie Sharpe.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, at the Emanuel Baptist Church in Cassville, followed by a potluck dinner. The main dish will be provided, but the family asks everyone to bring a side dish or a dessert.
