Virginia Lee Page
Virginia Lee Page, 88, of Shell Knob, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
She was born Feb. 10, 1926, in Tulsa, Okla., the daughter of Hugh Leroy and Rosetta (Southern) Curtis. On Dec. 18, 1943, in Tampa, Fla., she was united in marriage to Ervin Eugene "Gene" Page, who preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one brother and one sister.
Survivors include: one son, Dennis E. Page, of Shell Knob; two daughters, Barbara L. Page and Joyce K. Mahan, both of Springfield; one sister, Edna Rothrock, of Bakersfield, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She grew up in Oklahoma and was a graduate of high school in Seminole, Okla. In Jan. 1976, she and Gene moved to Shell Knob to make their home. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and Central Crossing Women's Club. She was a volunteer at the Central Crossing Senior Center and Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce. She also participated in the Lions Club foreign exchange student program.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
