Man allegedly assaults EMS employees

A Bentonville, Ark., man was hit with multiple charges after a crash in southern Barry County on Monday night.

According to the Highway Patrol report, Joshua Marcotte, 21, was headed southbound at 9:50 p.m. on Highway 37 one mile south of Seligman when his 2004 Infinity G35 ran off the roadway and hit a tree.

Marcotte received minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Cassville for treatment, but not before allegedly assaulting the EMS crew sent to assist him.

According to Sgt. Jason Pace with Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Marcotte was allegedly combative with ambulance personnel at the scene, as well as during the ride to Mercy Hospital.

He was charged with assault on ambulance personnel, driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.
