CHS inducts 17 into National Honor Society

Cassville High School inducted 17 students into its National Honor Society Friday, recognizing the students' achievements in a ceremony at the school.

Inductees included: Kristen Cox, Kallie Shae Dickson, Brooke Fields, JayCe Fink, Grace Gouvion, Isaiah Herbert, Audry Holman, Kathleen Hurst, Chase Jackson, Lane Madison, Alyssa Pearman, Levi Pollreisz, Kelsey Roney, Morgan Shumaker, Stussy Stephenson, Deidre Westphelling and Alyssa Wiertsema.

The organization also elected its new officers for the coming school year. Cox was named the new secretary, Roney was named the new vice president, and Stephenson was named the new president.

Four students were also honored for exemplifying the characteristics of the National Honor Society, which are scholarship, character, leadership and service. Each of the four honored were invited to light a candle on the ceremony stage, with Madison lighting one for scholarship, Westphelling lighting one for character, Pollreisz lighting one for leadership and Gouvion lighting one for service.

The 17 new inductees into the National Honor Society at Cassville High School take the society's oath at an induction ceremony on Friday.
