The Bowers-Rutledge Chapter of the National Honor Society of Wheaton High School inducted 10 new members into its chapter on April 9.

New inductees include: Chase Burns, Kim Yang, Christopher Yang, Lyda Yang, Rosillie Vang, Meng Yang, Marley Sherwood, Vanessa Cook, Skyler Scates and Brittany Harmon.

Members were chosen by a faculty council of four who followed the requirements for induction set by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

Each sophomore, junior and senior student who has maintained a 9.0 average on an 11.0 scale during their high school year is eligible for consideration for membership.

The faculty council then evaluates each student in the remaining three principle areas which make up an outstanding student -- character, leadership and service. Any student who can rise to the stated value in this evaluation, and has spent at least one full semester at Wheaton High School, may be inducted into the chapter.
