Oscar Powell Penn, 85, of Cassville, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, in his home.
He was born Oct. 18, 1928, to the late Howard and Anna Mae (Cantrell) Penn in Noel.
He graduated from Noel High School and attended Joplin Business College, where he received an accounting degree. For 14 years, he was employed as an accountant, and in 1964, he began working for the telephone company in Noel, and four years later he was transferred to Cassville. In 1987, after 23 years, he retired from Contel Telephone Company.
On May 26, 1972, in Miami, Okla., he was united in marriage to Faustine Craig, who survives. Additional survivors include: one stepdaughter, Vicky Dudley and her husband, Cecil, of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Louis Penn, of Brownfield, Texas; two sisters, Louise Hobbs, of Thayer, and Freida Burnett, of Gravette, Ark.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Sherman Penn, Floyd Penn, Chester Penn and Frank Penn; and four sisters, Ruby Murphy, Jane Murphy, Virgie Hobbs and Bonnie Bell Penn.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Darrell Spillers will conduct the services. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
