Clerk's office to canvass voters for records

Wednesday, April 2, 2014

By law, every two years the Barry County Clerk's Office is required to canvass the voters before a general election for federal office. This is for the purpose of updating our records with correct addresses and names.

The Barry County Clerk's Office will be sending each registered voter a new Voter Registration ID Card. When voters receive their card, they should verify that all the information is correct. If it is not, voters may fill in the correct information and return the card to the clerk's office. New cards will replace voters' old Voter Registration ID Cards.

Those who receive a card for a relative that no longer lives in Barry County or is deceased should notify the clerk's office in writing, include the person's name, date of birth, last four digits of the person's Social Security number, the sender's signature and relationship to the person.

for more information, people may call the clerk's office at 417-847-2762 or 417-847-2561.
