The school had 91 percent of its students wearing seat belts in a study done as they arrived at school one morning, good for third place in the southwest district. Cheryl Weston, outreach coordinator for Mercy's Injury Prevention, awarded the banner and spoke to students about the dangers of not wearing seat belts. Future Business Leaders of America club members pictured holding the banner include, from left: Emily Brewer, Katelyn Pitts, Arian Banks, Brittany Sanchez, Zach Denton, Jordan Fisher, Lindsey Nolan and Elisha Michael.
