Shell Knob golf course hires new general manager
Kings River Golf Course has announced the addition of Jason Jones, of Evansville, Ind., a the new general manager and course pro.
Jones played collegiate golf at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., and upon completion of his eligibility, played touring professional golf for six years. He has competed in several professional tours including NGA Hooters Tour and Gateway Tour.
Jones is a firm believer in the long-time motto of Kings River Golf Course, "Where fun is the name of the game."
He will put an emphasis on building the regular clientele at the course, as well as attracting new tourists and providing a fun atmosphere people will want to be a part of.
Jones also feels that golfers have an obligation to promote junior golf, and he will be developing a junior golf program.
Jones is the grandson of Dick and Pat Jones, of Shell Knob. He is excited to have the opportunity to combine his love of golf with the chance to live in Shell Knob close to his grandparents, feeling like he is returning home.
Jones will be assume his duties on March 24 and will be offering lessons starting in April.
