CHS prepares for Spring Stage Showcase
The Cassville High School Spring Stage Showcase will be March 20 and March 21 in the FEMA Building. Cassville High School students will be performing Alky and F.A.U.G.H., by Jerome McDonough, and there will be special performances by the improv troupe, C.I.A., and Mask and Gavel. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and performances will end around 8:30 p.m. Attendees may stay for the entire evening or just drop by for one show. Admission is $2.
Soroptimist to host Potato Bake fundraiser
The Soroptimist Club of Barry County will host a St. Patrick's Day Potato Bake on March 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cassville United Methodist Church. The cost is $7 and includes a baked potato bar, drink and dessert. Proceeds benefit the club, which focuses on improving the lives of women and children in Barry County.
Cassville R-4 School district sets parent/teacher conference dates
The Cassville R-4 School District will host parent/teacher conferences on March 26 and March 27 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on both days. Parents may contact their child's school to schedule a conference time. MOHealthWINS CNA Program comes to Cassville
For those who meet certain requirements, there is free tuition to attend an 8-week CNA class that begins on March 18 at Crowder College. The free CNA classes are funded through the new MOHealthWINS Grant Initiative. Mercy Hospital to host kidney disease seminar
Mercy Hospital will host Valerie Goodnight, RN, BSN, CNN, and treatment option program education specialist II, on March 20 from 5-6 p.m. Goodnight will speak on kidney disease. FBC to host 3-on-3 basketball
First Baptist Church in Cassville will host 3-on-3 basketball on Monday nights beginning on March 24 at the Family Life Center, located at 200 E. 5th St. The cost is $30 per team, and registration forms are available at the church's front desk. For more information, call Jeff at 417-846-0003.
D.A.R.E. Buddy Bass Tournament date set
The Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education group, also known as D.A.R.E., will host the Buddy Bass Fishing Tournament on April 26 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cape Fair Marina on Table Rock Lake. Fees are $50 per boat, with a 70 percent payback, and $10 for an optional big bass, with 100 percent payback. Early entries will be accepted at the Marina leading up to the event. Date set for CHS Alumni Banquet
The Cassville High School Alumni Association will host its annual Alumni Banquet on May 24 at 6 p.m. Any classes hosting a reunion in conjunction with the banquet are asked to call Kay Baker, alumni association president, at 417-547-4219.
Democrat editor to do radio interview
Kyle Troutman, editor of the Cassville Democrat, will be on KWTO 560 AM Thursday morning from 8-9 a.m. for the station's "Ask an Editor" segment. Troutman will be discussing city and county issues affecting local residents.
