Exeter teen headed to National Fine Arts Competition

A junior at Exeter High School is making her way to the National Fine Arts Competition in Columbus, Ohio.

Lydia Alverson, 17, recently participated in the Southern Missouri Fine Arts Festival in Springfield.

She competed in the category of female, vocal solo, senior high division, receiving a Superior rating and an invitation to compete in the National Fine Arts Competition this summer in Columbus, Ohio.

She will be representing Exeter Assembly of God at nationals and will be vying to earn college scholarships.

Alverson is the daughter of James and Teresa Alverson, of Exeter.
