Billy Harrington, 71, of Jenkins, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Mercy Hospital Springfield.
He was born on Oct. 12, 1942, son of James and Mildred (Rainbolt) Harrington, in Birdtown, Ark. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and retired from the Army in October 1981. On Dec. 24, 1990, he was united in marriage to Lorena Hendryx. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cassville.
Survivors include: his wife of Lorena Harrington, of Jenkins; one son, Billy Wayne Harrington II, of Jacksonville, Ark.; one daughter, Janesse Elaine Harrington, of Conway, Ark.; one stepson, James Maxwell, of the home; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; five brothers; and three sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Debbie Shanks, and Tracy Marie Harrington.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the White Funeral Home with Rev. James Weaver officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Clio Cemetery, Jenkins, where full military grave-side rites will be presented by the Fort Leonard Wood military funeral team.
