Dale Marvin Erway, 74, of Cassville, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in his home.

He was born Aug. 16, 1939, in Cripple Creek, Colo., the son of Marvin and Effie Marie (Wheatley) Erway. On March 8, 1978, in Kansas City, he was united in marriage to Brenda Brattin, who survives.

Additional survivors include: three sons, Steve Erway and his wife, Crystal, of Cassville, Marvin Erway and his wife, Tristy, of Fairview, and Alex Erway and his fiancÚ, Amanda, of Cassville; three brothers, Leonard Erway, of Larned, Kan., George Welsch, of Larned, Kan., and Max Welsch and his wife, Carol, of Great Bend, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Lee Erway and one brother, Junior Welsch.

He received his education in Larned, Kan., where he graduated from high school. From July 20, 1959, to Aug. 1, 1963, he served in the U.S. Navy. For several years, he was employed at EFCO, where he was a supervisor. In 1985, he moved from Garfield, Kan., to Missouri to make his home. He was a member of Solid Rock Southern Baptist Church in Wheaton.

Funeral services were held Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Robert Harrison conducted the services. Burial, with military honors, was at Creason Cemetery, Ridgley.
