Cassville Library to show Thor 2

The Cassville Branch Library will host a special showing of Thor 2: The Dark World at 4 p.m. on Feb. 28. The movie is PG-13, and attendees should bring their own snacks and drinks.

CBCO soliciting blood donations

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will host a blood drive on March 3 at Southwest High School, located on Highway 90 in Washburn, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Center is seeking all negative blood types and type O positive, as there is less than a two-day supply on hospital shelves. Those wishing to give blood should bring a photo identification and always eat well and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood. For more information, people may call 417.826-5413. The Center provides blood for patients at 38 area hospitals.

Red Cross to host trio of blood drives

The American Red Cross is preparing to host three blood drives in Barry County in early March. On Feb. 28, the Red Cross will host a drive at Arvest Bank, located at 503 Main St. in Cassville, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. On March 4, the Red Cross will host a blood drive from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Georges Inc., located at 9066 W. State Highway in Cassville. Another blood drive will be on March 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Purdy High School, located at 201 S. 3rd Street in Purdy.

Camping club to host opening-day breakfast

The Paradise Valley Camping Club, located at the west end of Campground 1 at Roaring River State Park, will offer biscuits and gravy, sausage or bacon, and coffee or hot chocolate the morning of March 1 starting at 6 a.m. at the camping club. Cost is $2.75 for one biscuit and one meat or $4 for two biscuits and one meat. People do not have to be a member of the club to attend, and proceeds are used to benefit the park.

Trivia Night set for March 7 in Cassville

The Cassville Education Fund will host Trivia Night on March 7 at 7 p.m. in the Cassville High School Commons Area. Team fee is $120 per team, or $15 per person. People may sign up at the Cassville Chamber of Commerce office, or by calling 417-847-2814. All contributions are tax-deductible and benefit the Cassville Education Fund supporting academic programs at Cassville Schools.

Senior citizens group to host board meeting

The Cassville Senior Citizen's Rental Housing Corporation will hold a special board meeting on March 4 at 3 p.m. in the community building, located at 1108 Townsend St. in Cassville.

Crowder College to perform "PANIC"

Crowder College will put on the theatre production "PANIC" March 6-8 at 7:30 p.m. nightly, plus a 2 p.m. matinee on March 8 in the Elsie Plaster Community Center at Crowder College's Neosho campus.

1st TRIO Dodgeball Tournament

The "1st TRIO Dodgeball Tournament" will be held on May 3 at the Crowder College Neosho Campus Gymnasium and will begin at 10 a.m. There will be free admission and concessions available. All funds will go directly to the TRIO Scholarships. Fees are $75 per team with a maximum of 20 teams.
