Lora P. Nungesser, 91 of Mead, Neb., died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in Wahoo, Neb.

She was born Nov. 9, 1922, at Casey, Iowa, to Carl and Bertha (James) Jensen. On Nov. 28, 1940, she married Francis Nungesser in Des Moines, Iowa. They lived in Eagle Rock, Mo., where they were members of All Faith Methodist Church for 22 years. In 2003, they moved to Mead.

Lora worked for many years as a laboratory technician. Some of her past times included crafts and bridge. She and Francis enjoyed travelling to various parts of the world.

Lora's survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Don Headlee, of Yutan, Neb.; son, Don Nungesser, of Lincoln, Neb.; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Deb Nungesser, of Lincoln, Neb.; sister Lucille Draman, of Orient, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Bertha Jensen; her husband of 67 years, Francis Nungesser; son, Bobby Nungesser; brother, Willis Jensen; sister, Marie Cochran; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Nungesser; grandchildren, Lisa Jo Headlee, Jeffrey Steven Nungesser, and Colin Wayne Schilke.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at First United Methodist Church in Wahoo with the Rev. Dr. S. Eric Ford officiating. Interment will be Saturday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. at Greenfield Cemetery in Greenfield, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the family for a later designation. Honorary casket bearers are Tony Casella, Jr., Cain Nungesser, Nick Markham, Ray Lee Headlee, Jerry Markham, Sr. and Alan Makovicka.
